Make sure the theft light isn't on your flashing?

You'll also need to do a crankshaft relearn?

i have never had a theft light

do you mean re align? how do you do that sounds like alot of work.

Without getting too technical, the PCM needs to be able to monitor for misfires. To do this accurately it has to compensate for machine tolerances and variations in the timing chain, gears, position sensor tone ring, etc. The crankshaft relearn procedure lets the PCM do this compensation. It can only be done with a scan tool. The PCM will also set a trouble code P1336 if the crankshaft relearn hasn't been performed. This won't cause delayed starting though. You still need to check the other stuff.

The cam sensor offset has to be performed, so your injector timing is in sync. If it is out of sync, the engine will run funny or have some weird drive-ability issues and it will probably set a cam offset trouble code which turns the check engine light on. Rotating the distributor changes the cam sensor offset angle. It doesn't affect ignition timing because the PCM controls that. The scan tool also has the capability to view the data for the offset angle, so you can set it as close to 0 degrees as you can. Well, maybe just a little more technical than intended, sorry.

If your not seeing a theft light while cranking, then that is one less thing you have to worry about.

OK so my truck wouldnt start without some help of a little fuel in the top, once it started it wran just fine. i shut it off it had a diccicult time starting back up but did fire up.

no lights are on on the dash (no check engine light)

anyone know what would cause it to not fire on its own, like i said a little gas in the intake on the top (i know not recomended) and she fired right up and ran just fine, i moved it backwards a little bit and the clutch engages fine at a low speed and it actually seems like it takes less releasing of the clutch for it to engage which before i had to have the clutch almost completly up before it would engage so im happy about that.

ideas suggestions? im trying to pinch some pennies here and i would rather not pay a mechanic as i want to try and buy a bike for the summer :)

What is the fuel pressure when it doesn't want to start? Make sure the fuel pressure holds when the pump turns off.

ill call autozone tomorow see if i can rent a fuel pressure tester

seriously thanks for sticking around, i havent got this girl running good yet but when i do i owe it all to you guys..I actually hold you guys words over any friend, fam or mech and so far i am doing pretty good because of that..( i think) for a first time DIY remove/replace engine.

if i can get back to a old problem. that braided copper wire did NOT belong on my starter(it started smoking and crackling when we hooked it up w/ starter).....i dont know where it belongs..should i just ground it to the fram, it really dosen't lead anywhere....it bolts to frame then is broken and i have no idea where its supposed to finish.

The ground strap probably goes onto the rear of the passenger side cylinder head. That ground is pretty important. Look on your old motor. The other half is probably still on it.

Looks something like this:

WoW, Hammer Time. that was pretty Sh!tty, its actually a different problem than the one im having in this thread and i thought that a new thread was appropriate. so instead of letting people try and help me out with the issue you lock my thread. not very helpfull. and kind of a dink move...the thread wasnt spamming and i wasnt being rude...i was simply asking a question which is what i thought these boards were for.

if you didnt notice, the title of this thread is "knock in transmision" which seems to have nothing to do with where these vaccume lines go. but thanks for standing up on that pedastal of yours and locking my thread. maybe ill try and find some boards that help people instead of blocking them from getting the help that they need.

Take out a piece of paper. Make a line down middle . On one side write $500 , on other side write down things you will need to buy or rent. Such as an engine hoist , eng stand , heavy duty floor jack , jack stands. catch pans for oil and water, (youll need as way to dispose of this).Torque wrench , impact air gun (got compressor?) Manual, harmonic balancer puller/installer. gasket set. Coolant ,oil and filter.... case of beer .I'm sure i've missed a lot....... The $500 side should start looking better and better.

Look, your treading on thin ice. You half 3 pages of people trying to help you with everything from noises to engine performance. Don't start the whole thing all over, someplace else where no one sees the prior history.
If you have a problem with that, this one can go too.

what does the prior history have anything to do with the other question i asked?

i was asking if anyone could tell me what some parts are and/or where they go.

chuck this one too if it makes you feel better about yourself. i was just asking a question, your the one who came in a nd locked my thread before anyone had a chance to reply to it.

anyways go ahead and lock this one too as i already found another forum that was able to answer my question. you could have said in the other post. "hey please post this in your current thread so when people view it they have the history"

instead you say "You already have 3 page on this problem. Don't try to start over now. " and just lock my thread..........

i appreciate the help from the people that have lent a hand but im sorry this is immature and un called for.
