Re: Rear Evaporator Flush Sign In

That's no problem if it will hold that long.

Re: Rear Evaporator Flush Sign In

Its fixed!! Ok after installing the orifice tube, pulling vacuum, the freon loaded just like on Youtube. Charging went perfect. Can 1-3 all loaded 11.8 oz each. Then had a partial can that loaded 7.3 oz, for a total of 42.7 oz. Specs were 43 oz. I did clear the yellow uptake line on each can so not certain how much lost so i may go back later and load a couple more oz. Not sure if its better to be an 2 oz under, or an oz over?

Anyway thanks Hammer and everyone. Remember without orifice tube the pressure the pressure differential seems to be non existent cause the compressor to run constantly and not cucle on and office.

Re: Rear Evaporator Flush Sign In

Glad you got it resolved.

The missing O-tube will raise the low side pressure but it won't really effect the high side much.

The low side pressure will also rise when the rear blower is on.

Re: Rear Evaporator Flush Sign In

Thanks Hammer

Curious?

If my system calls for 43 oz but i only loaded 41.9 oz is it ok, or should I load more.

I figured out approx my shortage. The cans were 12 oz freon cans. If I trust that is accurate then starting weight of cans were 15.3 oz - empty weight 3.5 oz = 11.8 oz loaded. (I measured all 3 with food scale). Thus I am assuming a .2 oz loss to clear the uptake line. .2 x 4 cans = .8 oz. The final partial can started at 10.8 oz - empty 3.5 = 7.3 oz loaded.

So 11.8 x 3 = 35.4 + 7.3 = 42.7 oz loaded.

However line clearing loss is .2 x 4 cans = .8

42.7 - .8 = 41.9 oz loaded.

So I am 1.1 oz short on a 43 oz system.

Should i try to load another oz or not worry.

Re: Rear Evaporator Flush Sign In

5% up or down isn't going to change much assuming the pressures are running close to normal.

Charging is never that precise even using a scale as the gauge hoses hold some that was previously counted and many people don't bother to empty the hoses.
