This isn't the normal small one by the radio for security , This one is new and directly to the left of the speed display on the dash board about the size of a pencil eraser . I sat in the car and shut things off and it didn't appear , I got out , got back in and sat on the center consaul and it didn't flash . Got out locked things up and there it was . I went online and into the owners manual but they only referred to the small security light by the radio . Any ideas ?

Where specifically is the light located? A picture would help. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

The light would be just left to the numbers for your speed , When you KOEO the numbers come up but there's no blank icon for the light . I tried pictures before here and didn't have any luck . When I post this it takes a minute then " gateway time out " comes up . I'm taking a ride soon so we'll see what's up

It is security related , I stopped by my go to mechanic and it didn't flash till I locked the doors . It's actually right next to the numbers within the oval but close enough . I'm dropping another car off there fri. morning maybe they'll have some in put , A younger guy seen it and didn't know exactly what it was . Thanks again . I'm sure the dealer knows what it is ( $$$$ )

Doesn't the diagram tell you? That is supposed to be your dash cluster.

Yes , It's the one next to the speedo numbers on the left . Maybe someone tried to get into the car when it was locked . I've set the alarm off before when the window was down and I reached in and started the car when it was locked but that was a while ago . You have to unlock it with the key and it stops . It happened last night when I was in it locked and started it up , the horn was beeping and the emerson lake & palmer CD started playing toccata , It was interesting

The other key made no difference . I agree that it should be taken care of I'd hate to be at the store with the system going cuckoo , I want to tell the mechanic it's a security indicator light as opposed to the other small one by the radio . Security activated light ?

The mechanic said the flashing light was normal . I said it wasn't flashing before and he had no explanation . I would assume it's related somehow with the gas gauge lighting up the empty portion instead of the full recently . Got the inspection and tire rotation while it was there . It's 17 years old with 130k for mileage and doesn't burn oil . Not too worried

Maybe take it to the dealer for peace of mind , I'm not familiar with any good tech guys in the area they seem to disappear one by one . I don't think there's a valet mode for my civic , it's not making sense to me from what I've looked into

Does it have a little button anywhere on the front or bottom of the dash? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

So there are no buttons or knobs on the dash , The diagram you gave was in my owners manual and when I looked into it said the light is normal to let you know it's active , I just don't know how to think or go about these things I guess . The question still remains why it wasn't flashing before , not a big concern over all

I'm guessing this only applies to the content security system and not the immobilizer. I'm thinking the slow flashing is only supposed to happen in an armed state and rapid flashing means it has triggered. That's the way most of them work.

If it's only showing up when the car is locked and you're out of it, it could just be a secondary security light to let you know the system is armed?
