Converted system calls for 16.04 to 18.33 oz or refrigerant. Taking into consideration I am not working with pro equipment I have about 17 oz 134a in. Yes I Misted the condenser during the second can.
Ambient tempature is 87° with 67% humidity. I have a lo pressure of 30 and a high of 160 with a dash vent temperature of 50°, which is 37° under ambient.

If you are sure of your math and results already now just stop! Drive it for a few days leaving thermos in center vent nice would be mid 40s and don't try to get greedy with it you'll pass the right amount which mess up the show. Reasons for now being colder are NOT just the charge - all other factors as well. Truck isn't as insulated as when new, ductwork, dirtier evaporator then you may know - lots of reasons.
While driving along air cools the whole vehicle and condenser by about 35-40 MPH matters to true temps but also matters that all things are tight for condenser that seal it to force air thru it not around it. The silly air dam under bumper can matter as air flow moving is creating a vacuum slightly under vehicle where all the air is really meant to go not be pressure then engine heat get involved can't flow that out as well.
Unreal how much to consider. That's a low capacity system so every ounce does matter but already said once you pass that is really stinks to go back without knowing how much you are taking back out!
The "40F" below ambient I think is more for home A/C than vehicles. One reason is vehicles must exchange air in passenger area by mandate so you are always fighting new outside air even on recirculating settings. Expect it to vary day by day, place by place driving along and watch it. Shaded roads vs hot ones in the sun, stuck in traffic - I personally take note of all that in my own just because.
It's hard to have the exact same conditions within a day never mind all the assorted other factors. Don't get too greedy there's nothing to prove for 2-3 degrees if close enough to call normal,

Thanks Tom. Leaving it at 50 is sound advice, I think that I was lower than that before but why play around for a couple degree's? 50 should be enough, that is close to a 40 degree drop. Of course I am working with cheap thermometer and old spring type postal scale so could be off by a bit.
Will take it for some rides and keep an eye on it, need to see if it is still freezing up?

Well it looks like guys got you going.. good job..
Man...I think this one is close to a record for longest thread....
If you have 2 cans in it already...I think I would leave it at that and see how it goes...
To get the coldest temp, go to max ac, recirculate and the blower on low and see what your temp is.....

This one is not over with yet, I may still have the original problem of evaporator freezing. Which should take this thread past page 5! If I still have the problem, seems like it will be the AC amplifier by default?

Doubt that now with vent temps around 50F the evaporator temp might be about 45F so if ex. valve doesn't mess up not that again if it did. You should see that or note no water, AKA condensate dripping if so then find out why airflow slows also and vent temps may go up actually,

First off, if we're trying to resolve a freezing problem, stop trying to get it colder. You're just making that problem worse. If it's freezing, it's plenty cold enough.
I think we should close this thread now and start another one if you still have a freezing problem. Everyone here is familiar with the vehicle and problem and going through multiple pages is not fun. We ARE NOT trying to set any length records.
You can always post a link to this thread in your new one.

That's actually a good idea.... After it got to 2 pages I wasn't adding anything because I wasn't sure if it had already been covered....and definitely wasn't going to read thru 2 pages of posts.....
