Unplug the wire and remove the two screws. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

How many blend door actuators are there on a Ford F150? And how long should it take an experienced mechanic to change both? (If there are 2)

There is only one electric one and it's for the blend door. The flat rate on it is 1.1 hours.

There are 3 other vacuum actuators but they have nothing to do with the blend door.

This is my situation. My husband took his 99 f150 to ford dealership to fix blend door or actuator whichever the case, and was given an estimate of up to $350. Mechanic calls this evening and says that both actuators were out and need to be replaced. Would take him better than half a day to replace at a cost of $618. Claims Parts are like $200. Does this sound right?

I'd ask for a few more details about the job. Find out specifically which actuators it needs and what problem they are correcting.
