I have a 1992 Ford F150 with the 5.0 302 motor 2 wheel drive. I have noticed my motor belt tensioner pulley is wore out because it is squealing very loudly. I sanded off the rubber from the belt and the squealing stops until the belt starts rubbing again after about four days. So tomorrow i am goin to buy a new tensioner pulley, not the whole assy. I am guessing the bearing is burnt out of the pulley itself. But i am just wanting to make sure, when i remove the pulley that it is only held on by on bolt, and is there a nut on the back side of it or is it just a bolt that runs through it?

Thank you,

There are likely two ways they do that pulley. One is just a bolt to remove and another way you need to remove it bracket and all - bolt hidden from behind to remove and adjust manual adjusted ones. The last one I did just a bearing was pressed in and could be done with socket the fits exactly the outer race only on a sealed bearing. Whole part isn't that expensive and less apt to come loose.

I try and sometimes fail at "peening" bumps to make me feel better when they are set in place. Don't strike inner race if you try bearing alone! Look, but I don't think they use snap rings,
