what would cause my muffler on my 94 s10 to blow out? also the truck bucked with bouncing rpms for about two weeks then today, pop!

Could possibly be a timing belt issue. If timing jumped, that would give the bucking and the radical RPM changes. Could have fired out of time and blew the muffler off. We used to do something like that with cars of the 50's or so. Get them going pretty good, then turn the key off and let it coast down- turn key back on and a big loud bang would result.

It's a timing issue but not due to timing belt. It's ignition timing duing that not valve timing. Since you see the RPMs bouncing.
