Re: Spout Connector Sign In

You were just given a # not what to fix IMO. What I found is p1831 is........

"P1831 Transmission Transfer Case Counter Clockwise Shift Relay Coil Short Circuit To Ground"

Before going nuts just go look for something with worn wires or something disconnected at the transfer case most likely if that info is on target and go from there,

Re: Spout Connector Sign In

I don't see a code 1831 or P1831 listed for your Bronco. Better check that again.

SPOUT plug is located on the left hand side of the engine bay near the ignition control module.

Re: Spout Connector Sign In

The second digit of "8" makes it a transmission code. Ignition codes would have a "3" for the second digit.

I can't find that code in the transmission control section either. Don't know if that code even exists for that vehicle.

I don't see any a relay labeled "Counter Clockwise Shift Relay" in the transfer case control wiring diagram anyway.

Re: Spout Connector Sign In

Please don't ever let the counter monkeys at autodeath tell you how to fix your car. They are salesmen trying to sell you parts, not techs trying to solve the problem. If they knew what they were talking about they would be techs and make a lot better wages than counter monkey pay. Getting the codes from them is free and convenient, but leave the diagnosis to the pros. That would be us by the way.
