Hello to all and thanks in advance for any help you can provide. 1988 Dodge D100 truck 308 motor. I have been experiencing problems starting the truck lately. When I turn the key it doesn't turn over, but if I keep turning the key it eventually catches and starts but it has gotten progressively worse. It has come to the point that it won't turn over now. All auxiliary equipment works with the key on, but it won't start. I don't know if it's a starter or the solenoid. I hope it is as simple as the solenoid, and if it is, how difficult is repair? I believe the solenoid is mounted on the starter. Any experience with this? Does it sound like the starter? Thanks again.

Is the battery fully charged? From your description, the battery may be too weak to allow the starter to work, but it has enough to allow tha lower current items to work. (lights, radio, etc)

ou may want to check the ignition switch to be sure it is operating properly. If it is not fully engaging the starting circuit it can cause your symptoms.
