Electrical problems with my truck HELP PLS

Hey I need help I have a 88 ford f150 3.2/5.0 with new motor when you turn the ignition the fuel pump doesn't kick on also the like bar don't come on but if I go under the hood and cross the solenoid the truck will turn over but it will not crank

Turn over and crank mean the same thing but i know what you meant. Not sure how to read this thread? Older Fords used a relay for fuel pump which should be underhood. A universal one as the origs don't fit each other is available. If original it should have a green skirt to the relay. VERY common problem. Just know the bail to remove those is PUSH not lift. Not expensive and too common. Carry a spare universal with you at this age because 1-2-3 you are walking just like that, T
