97 s-10 stumbles Sign In

when i excellerate my truck will go but will stumble till the gas pedal is half way down then it takes off and when i start to let off the gas pedal at the half way point it will stumble. but you can tell the differents at that hlf way point in the pedal. i have no code showing, plug are new, new Mass Air Sensor, i have ran 3 bottles of injector cleaner through it and none of these things helped. can someone help.

No more injector cleaner for now! Probably a problem with plug wires -- cap and rotor are less likely but in the mix with this. Vacuum leaks also can do strange stuff and don't always set off a check engine light, T

Should have said this the first time but a way to check wires etc is to spray window cleaner on suspect parts (cool engine) in the dark and look for arcing or sparks. Doesn't have to be window cleaner but it doesn't make a mess and clean water doesn't work.

For vacuum leaks: Listen for them, look at hose line first. Then you can test with carb/throttle body cleaner at suspect spots including intake manifold gasket but again with a cool engine as hot parts will make some carb cleaners flash. If you try that trick have an extinguisher handy. If you spray on a leaking spot and idle changes you are on to something. Hope that helps, T

thanks i did find a vacuum leak on the intake side of my brake booster line. but it still seems to have that half throttle stumble. i am goning to check it again and the wires too.
