Driver side seat keeps reclining. Will not lock in place

which truck? power seats? are there foot prints on the head liner?

97 silverado, not a power seat. Unfortunatly no foot prints

Have you taken the seat apart to inspect the locking mechanism? Maybe there is a broken bolt which seems to be a common failure item.

I pulled it out. Going to try to figure out how to take it apart tonight

Looks like there is parts missing. Happend when someone else was driving it,so who knows. I'll just buy a new seat or find parts at a junck yard. Thanks

I'd bet a huge wager you wont find a whole new seat with matching upholstery. If parts fell off go used. If they were riveted you'll need to deal with that or change over your seat cover to a working whole used one that is exactly like yours. Could have been a bench seat or other type??

Rare but sometimes with silly things like this you might find the parts still in the truck or hidden under upholstery or who knows and fix what you can if so,
