Silverado, has gas @ injector, spark @ coil just rolls over and I can't hear the fuel pump come on? I haven't checked fuel pressure not sure how to and don't have gauge. Vehicle @ sons house 35 miles away, need guidance.

Try spraying a little starting fluid or carb cleaner into the intake and see if it tries to start. If so, check for injector pulse using a noid light bulb. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I tried to spray starting fluid and didn't even get a backfire. Will the noid light work considering I used starting fluid with no results? Thanks!

Nope, won't tell you anything. You need to test for spark at the plug end of the wire with a spark tester. If you have spark, do a compression test.

Could there be spark @ the coil and not @ the plug. I have spark @ the coil.

You're not factoring in the wires that way. If this thing has compression and spark, it has to at least backfire with starting fluid so something is missing.

Thanks I will try spark tester, then compression if I have spark. I will try all that this weekend as the Truck is not accessible at this point. Thanks for all your help and I will let you know!

I went to my sons today and Truck started up! Last week I poured in some additive to relieve moisture out of the tank and today bingo. It spitted and sputtered and then took off. I put in over 1/2 tank of gas and drove like it should on the long drive home. I'll be changing the cap and rotor. I'm also going to check the fuel pump. Is it possible that my son received bad gas? Sounds like it but I don't know why it would take almost a week for the moisture to evaporate. Thanks for your help!

Moisture doesn't evaporate. It's a sealed system. You likely had a stuck pump that just freed up.

Thanks, Do you think that its time to replace the pump just for preventive maintenance?

Only if you can confirm it being the source of the problem by seeing a low fuel pressure reading during the problem.

Thank You! I will check fuel pressure yet this afternoon. If the pressure fluctuates then is this the problem? Also, would you recommend changing the sending unit if pump is bad? Is there anything that should be changed if I have to go that far? I wouldn't want to have to back get into the gas tank because I should have and didn't?

This is a TBI system so it's low pressure (9-13PSI). If it goes below that point at any time, replace the pump and filter. I wouldn't worry about the sender unless you're having gauge issues too.
