well the problem came back again earlier today but the truck didn't die like would before and after about 30 seconds started acting normal again, so anything else that could make a vehicle act up like this and there isn't any vaccumm leaks i checked everyone of the hoses.

NGK and i've noticed that some reason the coolant reservoir doesn't seem to keep any coolant in it but when i check the radiator it's full but there aren't any leaks anywhere under the truck when i park it or in the engine compartment.

Without some data to go on, it makes it real tough to diagnose......There is a lot of things that will cause this problem from quick cheap fixes to every exspensive ones....... What kind of diag tools do we have at out disposal here? (If you comeback with a paperclip & snickers bar,,,,then we are in trouble here)......Is there anyway you could pull a datastream from the comp (cold & hot)? Do you still have the old plugs? If you do take a high res picture of them, get a good shot of the electrodes....& post them....

Didn't read this whole thing again. NGK is either good or bad for plugs but better to use OE AC Delco. If you drop a plug in handling mark which one. Plug was already found broken once. Takes tools to put them in with straight on torque or just putting them in will break them. There's a problem with this happening twice and think that's it. Coolant recovery tank: They get old and crack and may be losing coolant right from it. Temp fix if so is silicone sealer but takes time to cure. Need a new one for the fix as it wont last patched if so, T

Tom all the plugs are good. The problem i'm refering to is the i stated earlier involving a rough idle and the vehicle surging sometimes when accelerate.

I would say at the minimum you need a test light, digital voltmeter, vacuum gauge, compression gauge & paper clip (too pull codes)... It would really help to be able to look at the datastream when it's acting up and when it's running good but if you don't have one then you don't have one.......If you like to do your own work, it really wouldn't be a bad idea to have one......I don't use the lower end stuff a whole lot but have seen some of them giving more data than they use to....Before they were basically a code puller & clearer but some now have datastream options & a few years ago I saw tech pick up a cheap one that even had some OBD I functions (that's what your system is) Since this problem seems to be temp related, you have to look at the coolant temp sensor....Tom was nice enough to post a chart for you.....Get an ohm meter & check it when it's cold.....If its 30° outside & your sensor is showing 70°....that could be a big problem......Then you could try disconnectronics.....unplug the EGR valve, take if for a spin, unplug the MAP sensor, see what that does....... If you don't even have the basics.....The all you can do is replace all the overdue maintenance parts and then......guess......That can get real expensive real quick....

Yea thats the tough thing about intermittent problems, even with all the bells & whistles they can be tough to track down......Best thing to do is try to nail down a pattern....when you are in the 90% range the problem is going to happen.....This is when you need to be checking things out and see if what you did made a difference.....better or worse...

Those are both important codes 13 - 0/2 sensor open circuit 15 - Coolant temp sensor (low temp indicated} Both of those things will really mess up your fuel mixture. This could be a wiring issue involving those sensors since the problem is intermittent. You really need a scan tool to monitor these sensors while wiggling wires. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I agree with Desi.......Those had a problem with connecters going bad on the ECT sensor........Might not be a bad idea to take a look at the sensors & connecters......They sell new connecter ends for the temp sensor.... Let us know what you find out.....
