Search this forum this category all forums for All words Any words Whole Phrase (search options) Auto Repair Home>> Truck Repair>> Truck Repair Advice hercowboy1976 New User Apr 15, 2012, 4:16 PM Post #1 of 4 (3263 views) 1984 dodge 150 5.9l won't start Sign In i have a 1984 dodge prospecter with a 5.9l engine.i bought the truck not running. it had no fire. i changed the icm.coil,and ballist resitor and now it fires great. i checked the timing and the plug wires where wrong, so i fixed that. starter was dragging bad so i replaced that. now it turns over good. it has a holley 4 barrel and i worked the throttle and get 2 good streams of gas every time.the problem is it just won't start. it tries to but i will run the battery down and still no start. it was back firing through carb before i fixed the plug wires..please help i at a loss..thanks Hammer Time Ultimate Carjunky / Moderator Apr 15, 2012, 4:38 PM Post #2 of 4 (3237 views) Re: 1984 dodge 150 5.9l won't start Sign In If it's backfiring through the carb, then you have either the timing or firing order wrong.
