Hello I bought a truck with some issues. Long story short it caught on fire when I was trying to start it in my driveway. So i ended up replacing the carb all of the fuel lines/fuel filter and spark plug's/wire's/distributor cap. The truck will start right up with out giving it any gas. However it is acting like the gas is floored and I have to turn the key off after a second or I am afraid it will blow the engine. I made sure there is nothing sticking with the gas lever, it goes all the way back and stays there. Any sugestions would help. Thank you very much for looking!

could be a major vacume leak my 79 cought fire too, usually its the rubber fuel line or the accelorator pump depending on your engine and carb if its a 351\m with the motorcraft carb make sure theirs no big leaks and the timing is dead on
