'07 silverado cruise control issue Sign In

Hi all-

As the title states, I'm having an issue with the c/c. The power light on the steering wheel still works, but the green engagement light only works intermittantly (with the cruise). Could this just be a simple issue with the buttons, or should I take it in for service?

Thanks in advance.

Nothing electrical will be simple. It may take some expensive equipment to diagnose it also.

Yes, thanks. That's what I'm afriad of. I was hoping somone had experience with a simple solution. Though I guess nothing's simple on these new cars... ha ha.

Engine size? series? 2 or 4 wheel drive?

Any trouble codes stored in the engine controller?

Oh, yeah, sorry. Guess that would help.

'07 4WD 6.0L

Don't have a scanner (assuming that's the only way to get codes, right)?

Is there another way to get a code to display on the dash?

Thx.

No, but Autozone or Advance Auto will read them for free.

Nice, thanks! Did not know that. In the end, still not a easy fix i'd bet (translated... $$$).

I miss the days of old cars you could almost always fix anything yourself. Computers are great and all.... but.

Thanks again.
