ford aerostar serpentine belt Login - Sign Up

I have a 1990 ford aerostar 4.0L with AC. I just replaced the alternator but I am unable to replace the serpentine belt. I have a tried a new one and the old one. I know the routing is correct but even with the adjuster pulley loosened and pushed forward to it's fullest extent the belt is about 1" short of going under the adjuster pulley. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Wasn't this answered elsewhere on this site? Oh well, if not: Make sure pulley is the same and check the # of grooves was the jist of it, T

You can swap pulleys on most and readers ------ don't give up your old alt till the new one fits right -- take my word for it, T
