I HAVE A 97 FORD ESCORT AND I GOT IN IT TODAY ,AND CAME TO A STOP SIGN AND I PUSH THE GAS,AND DID NOT DO ANYTHING BUT REV UP THE ENGINE,NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAD TO IDLE IT HOME,THEN TONIGHT I TRY TO MOVE FROM WHERE I HAD TO PARK TO WHERE I AM SUPPOSED TO PARK IT,AND THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE WORKING BUT SEEMS A LITTLE ROUGH,SHOULD I DRIVE,OR DO U THINK THE TRANSMISSION IS JUST SLIPPIN THANKS

If this is an automatic check your trans fluid level which is done with a warm engine but it's ok to take a look colder just don't overfill it. If a standard shift your clutch worn out can behave like that. Either way it's got to be checked out and by your description I wouldn't trust it to go far until solved. T
