And I have a NOS, (new old stock) water pump for my 67 Mustang that has the original C7 part number and I was wondering if this pump is still OK since it has never been installed. It is still in the original box. Anyone know what the shelf is on this type of part?

If stored well it may be just fine. I would spray some silicone spray in the vent hole and spin it. It if looks rusty on the shaft it could be trouble. Hard to pressure test this without installing it. Back then when they failed under warranty Ford dealers had to rebuild their own and those kits may still be out there or available new as the small block V8 for those used that small block for decades later and the sixes hung on a while too,

Yes Tom, it has been stored in the original box wrapped in wax paper. The silicone sound like a great idea. Thanks. Bob
