Can anyone tell me how to open the rear door/hatch on a 4 door 2000 Kia Sportage. Bought it used and the college kid couldn't remember how to unlock it. I tried pulling the latch release for the tire and that doesn't work and I tried turning the key to the right which doesn't work. Is there a hatch release button someone on the inside that I can not find? Thanks for any tips!

You will need to release the spare tire and swing it out of the way before opening the hatch.
Try pushing in on the tire assy then pulling the latch release handle .
