I have a 1990 ford aerostar 4.0L with ac. I just replaced the alternator but I am unable to replace the serpentine belt. I have tried a new one and the old one. I know the routing is correct but even with the adjuster pulley loosened and pushed forward to it's fullest extent the belt is about 1" short of going under the adjuster pulley. Any suggestions? Thanks

Is the Alternator’s drive pulley the same diameter as the originals?
