Leaking top Sign In

My son has a 1999 Chrysler Sebring lxi convertible and we had rain last night and now he has puddles!! So any specific area on top that is known to leak or and a good idea to fix it? Not replacing the top.

Re: Leaking top Sign In

Really need to find out where the leak is coming from. Where are the puddles inside the vehicle? Maybe need to have someone use a water hose on the top while someone watches inside to see where the water is coming in at.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Re: Leaking top Sign In

Convertible tops have to seal in numerous points and over the years these seals deteriorate and nothing short of replacing the top will resolve that.

Your first step will always be to find the point of entry for the water. You can't even begin to fix a leak if you don't know where it is.

Before you even do that you have to remove all the seats and carpets to dry out the backing to those carpets as mold will begin in very short order and they cannot be dried from the top. If you lift the carpet and find it has foam with sheet plastic sealing it in, you are just going to have to replace the carpet. there is no way to dry those out. Believe me on that. I have spent numerous days trying.

We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
