Hi new and am not a mechanic but was wondering I'm looking at buying a 1970 s hz or hx. Holden panel van and am wondering if it is easily possible to put a new fuel injected v8 into one of these as it has an old 253 and would any thin else have to be changed as we'll like brakes suspension gearbox and diffs .

The key word is you just said you are NOT a mechanic but have a dream of this thing with a new engine, fuel injected at that. If you have the bucks and a dream of some funky old van get one already done and find help to care for it. Perhaps go to a car show with assorted stuff and see what people can do and have done. A van body to me mean extra troubles with space to alter a drivetrain particularly engine/trans (gearbox as you call it.) If you dream of something that will behave on the road you'd best know of lot of people and places to fabricate stuff, T
