Hey guys i have a 97 f150 standard cab triton v8 engine, flareside. Truck got totaled few years ago, but i just had a offer to buy a 98 f150 extended cab for $300 engine blown used as a work truck for roofing. Will a 97 f150 engine fit this truck?

Re: Engine swap Sign In

If exact size engine the salvage yards would know best if engines are the same for a swap in whole or part best.

Have you kept up with the totaled '97's engine or just parked it and let it sit? Few years means what - how many and what have you done if anything?

The '98 for only $300 unless already squished flat is worth that in metal weight so probably worth it anyway if you want two dead trucks. OK, that one needs an engine but what else about it if known other than it worked hard? Could need tons of stuff that might be OK on the totaled one but after sitting and how stored what might be wrong now with it is unknown. What totaled that one a collision or something else?

Re: Engine swap Sign In

If the 8th digits of both VINs match it probably will, otherwise, no.
