"95 chevy cavalier driver door will not shut. Nothing visibly indoor. Ask me questions to get at the heart of the matter because I'm not mechanically inclinedUnsure

try holding the outer door handle in the open position and look at the latch area. You should see an opening between 2 semi round pieces of metal. If these pieces are touching, use a screwdriver to move them apart. The door should close. Then look to see if the latch is lining up with the metal pin that sticks out of the car. If it doesn't, either a hinge is bad, or maybe you can adjust the pin to center in the latch and the door will work.

To add: If this is in cold weather with recent precip as where I am - moisture can be the issue. WD-40 can help. Put car in warm garage. Hair, blow dryer on latch etc. The WD-40 tends to prevent the moisture from getting in the door side parts of the latch and best done from inside the door if a real problem,
