2.7 Chrysler engine

2004 Dodge Stratus 2.7 Engine, 96,000 miles. I just finished reading many horror stories on the internet about this engine. Are there many of them that go on without major problems after 100,000 miles? One site recommeded changing the water pump and timing chain before 100,000 miles. Presently, the coolant level is fine. How concerned should I be?

Seen quite a few burning oil. I wouldn't worry to much, like the old saying goes if it's not broke don't fix it.
