$1700 for a 105k service? Sign In

I have a Honda Odyssey 06 with 107k miles on it. An auto shop is charging me $1100 for replacing timing belt, water pump, front engine seals, idler/tensioner bearings, and drive belts.
They are also charging another $560 for the 105k maintenance service which has something to do with the radiator/antifreeze, engine oil, trans vital fluid, brake vital fluid, and spark plugs/wires/T-up.

Is this price reasonable?

Well - That's a lot of stuff so if done to the letter and you expect the next years to keep this as dependable as possible go for it. Price is highly regional for labor rates so can't nail that per location or shop.

I would want to include cooling system hoses, full brake check, exhaust check.

This would be for a vehicle that's in known good shape now and had been cared for all along and you expect more. Your call always but would seriously consider doing all this for a keeper,

Have you called around some other shops to get quotes for comparison? Stay away from the backyard mechanics. That price doesn't sound too far fetched.

Thank you guys for the replies!
I will call around to compare the price. If they are all within the same range, I think I will go on with this price. This van is well maintained and I want to keep it running for years down the road.
Once again thank you
Wink
