That's what the trade schools are for. Then work a few years to polish skills and get tons of tools to even think about this,

As others have said . Enroll yourself in a trade /voc school . Be sure to be up on your basic skills ,math, science, reading comprehension . If you stand out above the crowd , a mentor will find you. You say you are dedicated to the cause . Hate to say it but talk is cheap . You must rise to the top, in order for someone to pass along their hard earned knowledge.
