Let me save you a bunch of money right now. Forget all that stuff.

They are all just gimmicks to make the seller money and will do nothing for you. You have a computer controlled car that maintains a constant 14.7:1 air fuel ration. It is already programmed for optimum mileage and power. You just need ton keep it maintained properly including all the filters, ignition and especially the tire pressures. Change you driving habits and use less accessories is about the only way your going to improve your mileage.

He's right on - if they could have made the thing do better it was done already and the rest is a waste.

If you wanted better gas mileage why did you buy a large V8 truck?

Re: Titan mpg improvements Sign In

The point I/we are making is that it's really needing the fuel to do what it can do. Any car maker would be nuts to make it less than optimal as it's a dog-eat-dog competitive industry. People think there are tricks that were withheld in original engineering and it just isn't true.

There are two things you can do if it's all working properly that can make a smidge of help. Always keep tire pressure where it is suggested and I personally have no doubt that some high end synthetic motor oils like some Mobil 1 products boldly claim do help but it won't really be noticed. Always make sure oils are meeting or exceed manufacturer's recommendations!

As you said - you needed what it can do and some small car couldn't do that,

Re: Titan mpg improvements Sign In

i had been leaning towards an f150(better milage) but i got a deal i couldn't pass on the titan. i have a 97' hardbody 4 cyl that gets around 21 mpg stock and the wife has and altima, so i do like the nissans. anyways i wanted to thank you again, sorry if i sounded like a smart eleck--should re-read before posting. i had just heard of all these different products out there and had high hopes. oh well, the truck should pay for itself with usage.
