will a 4l60e transmission from a 97 astro work in a 97 tahoe

I was at the wrecking yard today and they told me they had a 4L60e transmission out of a 97 astro van, but it wouldn't work for my 97 tahoe. They are both 2 wheel drive and they look the same, even the plugs are the same. Are they mistaken or am I missing something? Any info would be greatly appreciated since I'm really anxious to get my tahoe on the road again. Thank you.

Save yourself a lot of aggrevation and call/stop in to a GM parts dept and have them look up the part numbers for both vehicles.
They're probably different...
Have the Salvage yard and/or GM tell you what Vehicles transmissions will interchange and go that route.
I'm guessing yours will interchange with Silverado,Yukon,Sierra models.
