454 C.I.D. didn't begin till later so if accurate it's not what came with the car at all. 396 + 427 were the big blocks possible. No matter but if already altered then a host of questions of how and what was done and what was original.

You can play with the cars from the 60's and people do. Complications can be lots of things like mounts, length requiring altering driveshaft and likely a support bar. Speedometer may not be right but used to be able to get stuff to adjust that to rear end ratio. I'm not into and never was into the Hot Rod things but have seen about everything out there at car shows.

Chevy is the easiest to find pre-made parts for custom work like this. My guess is it will bolt right up to a real 454 and then deal with any brackets and things needed to support it. Probably need to know exactly which 454 and exactly which 700R.

What is in it now for a trans and what is your objective to change it if it works now?

If you have a 700 that came on a big block, which can be found in 2wd pickups easily enough, you should be ok. You will need a different driveshaft length and probably a different mount. A ton of vendors out there for these conversions and a look at the ads in Hot Rod or Car Craft should supply you with contact info.
