A restricted exhaust or a faulty MAF sensor could also be the problem. From your description, it sounds more engine related. You may want to get it diag'd before making any rash decisions Also with all the computer controls on your car, swapping it out to a manual isn't a very doable option. I'm not sayings it's impossible but by the time you get done changing all the harnesses & modules to go with the manaul trans you will have spent more than the car is worth.... The P1582 is Idle adaptation at limit.
