2000 Ford Expedition 4x4 5.4L I pulled into a parking lot and came to a stop to let someone out and when I went to pull foward the engine just reved like it was in nuetral. I turned off vehicle and restarted it and it worked so I parked and when I went to leave it worked fine. I got about 1 block and had to stop for light when I when to go through intersection it did the same thing again. I turned off and restarted 3 times before it would engage again but only just made it through the intersection. I made it home restarting multiple times and when I checked the fluid level with engine running and in nutral it was showing overfilled, it was fine the week before when I checked it. It does this whether I am in drive 1st or 2nd gear. Just driving it will loose power to wheels and the motor free rev's.

Gary the trans expert will be along shortly. In the meantime please post the mileage and have the trans module scanned for any stored codes and post the numbers here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

You're going to need some much better equipment. You need a professional scan toll capable of reading the GEM module.
