transmission/dodge ram

have dodge ram 1500 4x4 2001 5.9. just replaced tailshaft and transfer case. now has no reverse. all other gears are ok. sounds like it engages in reverse but does not back up. can anyone help?

Auto trans or manual?
Does changing gears in the transfer case make any difference?

it's automatic. just tried from transfer case in 4low, has reverse, but there is no front drive shaft

Ok....looks like you've narrowed the problem down to the transfer case if you now have reverse.
What's the story on the transfer case? You mentioned it was replaced. Is this a new one, used one?
Maybe get under there & double check all the connections....

checked all electrical and vac connections, everything ok there. any other suggestions?
