Hi everyone how are you doing I have a 1993 cadillac deville with a 4.9 that has 104,000 miles on it about 8 months ago I had my transmission rebuilt at AAMCO and ever since I had the transmission rebuilt the transmission runs rough when trans goes into overdrive and torque converter lock up ive brought it back to them and they say it's normal ive driven other cars and are not rough when shifted into overdrive my cars shifts great everything and runs great when it downshifts out of overdrive please help thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by runs rough, if the engine runs bad or the car shakes but either way you don't like it but they say it's normal. What you are probably going to have to do is get a second opinion.
It is possible that there is another problem that is unrelated to the trans repair. The 2nd opinion would confirm or deny that. If the problem is unrelated, then just have it repaired. If it is related have the shop document it for you and take it back to Ammco and hopefully things will get fixed.......If not then there are other steps you can take.....

To add a maybe:
Been reported here that this vintage of that car are very sensitive to ground connections. Battery neg should go to engine block and be ok or it wouldn't start/crank but either this is or both grounding body direct from battery or engine block. If controls (car's puters) get weak signals it's reported this one is more sensitive to that.
In that so much gets moved to redo the trans it's on the list of things IMO that could be weak, damaged or plain broken straps??

By what I mean is the car runs smooth until it goes into torque converter lock up then the car just feels rough in torque converter lockup but as soon as it down shifts runs smooth again

Was just a guess based on crazy things reported on specifically that car. It may need a new TC or who knows. Keep track of the complaint as Sidom suggested as something tisn't right with that,

yeah maybe idk he said he he put a reman tc in but idk they didnt even change the solenoids

Hey tom I have alldata and i was looking and it has a TSB about the ground connections would that be the engine wiring harness or what it says a harness but is that the engine wiring harness or what? thanks

All connection are important - trust me they don't waste a dime putting in extra wire!
Battery cables at battery as those are common GM problems with side posts. Now follow those (leave neg battery disconnected and use a memory saver while making sure hood light is unplugged to save settings) - positive ends up at the starter and ground ends up at the engine block.
What's mandatory is all cars is then making good grounds from block or tranny that is bolted to engine block, thru usually bare wire eyelet ended ground straps. They sneak them here and there throughout the car.
As engine/trans is mounted on rubber it really doesn't make much or adequate contact to body metal throughout vehicle which is used at a ground for assorted things everywhere. Here's a couple pics of what they look like....
The battery to block and block to firewall is what concerns me most with a big job like trans overhaul AND now with what MIGHT be an electrical problem. These need to be both cleaned and properly tightened. Not uncommon to find them broken!
You can use aggressive alligator jumper ended wire from good engine bare ground to a good ground on unpainted body including firewall for testing. If one makes a huge change then find a broken one or just add one that's out of the way of everything.
Nothing is wasted in cleaning these up and I like to use dialectic grease on them. As said this may not be the issue but already posted at this site is several that silly things (nothing is silly when it's yours) are fussier with this "DeVille" series than others??
I hope it's that simple - may not be?
