Have you checked the trans fluid level since this happened?

yes it was fine if anything it was a little over full she just had a full service oil change at her regular place 2000 miles ago we had it towed to a transmission place minimum $1000 just to check upwards of $2500 if its the top end of the transmission torque converter I am not so convinced they are not trying to take advantage so we had it towed to my house for now

If the fluid is full and the car still will not move, then you can be reasonably sure that it's a serious internal transmission. Nobody takes a transmission apart and corrects only pone defect. Once it is torn down, a rebuild is the only way it's going back together.

If you don't trust them, then go get a second opinion. I can't tell you anything from here.
