My girlfriends 2001 Monte Carlo ss with electronic traction control seems to decide on its own to engage the traction control feature, even when switched off, or so it seems. At first she thought it was the abs cause it makes that same noise as when anti lock brakes are working, but it also does it while no brakes are being applied, and acelerating. For a short while we removed the fuse for the anti lock brakes to trouble shoot if it was the brakes and it still persisted so the non mechanics that we are are thinking its the traction control. Any help would be appreciated, as times are tuff and not a lot of $ to spend on diagnostics, thanks, Underdog
