We have a 99 chevy silverado with a 5.3 vortec engine, we put it in 4 WD low and now it won't come out of low, any suggestions ? ?

4X4 is not my strong suit but own a '97 with a servo problem(electrically engaged) and horribly slow to get 4X4 which could be the problem. I sought help from long term trans person I deal with as needed who only did transmission and related gearcase work and knew right away. Truth is, it was there and let him put it in and still working fine years later but slower than I like. Only use 4X4 for plowing snow - no off roading or other need for it for my purposes.
Reminds me that I should probably just let it work on and off to keep it working so it doesn't stick again like it did. It worked but the wait was hard to deal with but it did work as said,

We pulled the actuator from the transfer case and it didn't seem to behave properly, a new one for $115 took care of the problem, thanks

I bought a taurus wagon 5 years ago for $1200 and I'd be surprised if I have $2400 total invested, aside from the time I spend working on it, so I count my blessings

Of my own 200+ cars the ones I kept $$ was no object. My time and thousands right away if I really liked one for a "keeper" and make them go anywhere cars. Currently an '89 Town Car, one of many of the panther series cars that all others used rusted out so bad couldn't keep them. This and another in wait don't see rain now.
Gutless wonders but ride like a couch. Joke but trunks on those can fit six bodies with room to spare. The dang things can get mid 20's for MPGs - not the world but dang good for what they are IMO.
I wouldn't own the 4X4 truck but need to plow snow if and when. Too many cars at my home so plow the front yard if frozen enough so can't expect to hire that to be done exactly without damage to yard.
Getting old for all this crap which was just in stride back when,
