Sign In I have a 1998 dodge avenger and since buying it used 3 years ago it has always jerked when I go from a full stop to accelerating like lets say I'm at a Red Light, then I go to accelerate when it turns green I accelerate and it jerks, it also does this when moving slow in bad traffic (like moving up a bit then stopping,etc,etc). However when at steady speed it doesn't jerk at all. Is this my transmission or no? Sign In It's hard to say what your experiencing without actually driving it my self. It could be numorus things. I would check transmission fluid, take if for a drive get the car warmed up check fluid make sure it's at proper level. Sign In like I said it could be numerous things causing this problem, plugs, wires, coil, fuel pressure and it might be tranny related.. it's hard to say without actually experiencing it my self.
