Transmission Sign In

We are looking at 2010 Subaru outback. 40,000 miles auto transmission. Had seller take to dealer for inspection. They took for a test drive and reported transmission making "noise". Car is under warranty and they are replacing with new tranny. My question is are there any other issues that the bad transmission could cause? Seller had not noticed any issue but my concern is if transmission has been bad for 10,000 miles could it have worn down other parts of the car?

2wd or 4wd? What part of the transmission is making the noise?

4wd. Don't know location. Vehicle is out of town and we asked seller to bring to dealership for inspection we paid for.

Did you buy the vehicle yet? Maybe you should talk to the mechanic at the dealership.

Re: Transmission Sign In

Been watching this one. If this was professionally checked out then there should be a copy of what the state of state is. Just saying "new" trans doesn't satisfy me yet. Talk to the tech and even if covered by warranty I'd still want paperwork and as DS said talk to the tech.

Cars are too costly to most folks and mistakes can be a disaster. Was it ever in a collision? Salvage title would void warranty work or does here if it has that I'd avoid the thing even if a bargain,

T
