Transmission Replacement

I have a 2002 Chevy Astro. How do I acquire a new transmission for this discontinued model? Can I put AWD into it even though it’s currently RWD?

You definitely can't change it to AWD.
There are many ways to resolve the transmission problem
You can have that one rebuilt
You can find a good used one from a junkyard
You can purchase a factory reman unit
