Hello everyone, I have Dodge Caravan '93. The engine is a 3.0 and has 180k miles, and the car has been driving fine until a few months ago. I lent the car to friend to move his stuff and he told me that he hit a speedbump so fast that he thought he had hit something. Now the trans. fluid is leaking and it's starting to do funny things once in a while. The transmission switches gears fine but sometimes while I am driving and trying to speed up the transmission drops into a lower gear on its own and it sounds like it is switching to 2nd gear. When I let go of the gas right away it returns backs to normal, this happens once in a while. Anyone know what it could be? I would appreciate the help.

This is a case of DAMAGE! You said fluid is leaking and wonder why anything is wrong! You have to see what got damaged, fill fluid to proper level to even see if that alone getting fixed will help. Then find and fix what was smashed! Keep driving it and you'll need a whole trans - your call...... T
