Trans hard time getting it into 4 wheel drive.

96 Ram 1500 4x4. Hard time getting shifter into 4 wh drive. Seem to be missing the spot where it goes in. 235,000 miles. but 90% long trips. runs great

Which position are you having a hard time getting into? 4H, Neutral, 4LO?
Did you inspect the linkage and bushing in the shifter assembly and the rod at the transfer case?
