I need to know if I can put another year transmission in my car or if I have to put a 95 in. The price difference is about 400$ between my year and any other year out here... Took ALOT of searching to find just one that was the exact same as my car when all others are very easy to come by. nickwarner Veteran / Moderator Aug 19, 2012, 7:11 AM Post #4 of 4 (1727 views) Re: Tranny help on 95VW Jetta Sign In 95 was a crossover year in the industry to switch from OBD1 to OBD2 and the 95 year for most all makes is something of a hybrid of the two systems, so the only one that will fit and communicate with the computer is a 95.
