TCC cycling on and off at wrong times and too often. Sign In

I have a 1996 Blazer 4wd. At highway speed the TCC will lock up and stay engaged like normal when in OD. If the vehicle is in drive the TCC cycles on and off every second or two. It also does this at much lower speeds in second gear. Could this be a TPS? Any ideas at all would be appreciated.

Are you watching the TCC command with a scan tool to verify the PCM is switching the solenoid on and off? You can also monitor TPS voltage to see if the voltage is changing while this problem is occurring. Another thing that will cause the PCM to denergize the TCC solenoid is the brake switch input.
