Its also strange that the light for OD is not coming up when i press it. Also there are no lights indicating D or R. I wouldn't keep driving it, you might cause serious damage by doing so. Don't know much about mitsu's, you will have to bring it in and get it on a scanner at a tranny shop or dealership. It does appear to be an electrical problem which has defaulted the transaxle. There is a transmission controller that should be checked for stored codes to begin diagnosis.
