SPEEDOMETER VS REV COUNT

 Hi guys,
someone just noticed something in my car that i've always thought was normal. i drive Jetta III 1997 csx, mileage=215700, engine size=1.8. the speedometer and rev count pointers go parallel up to 120km/h, what i mean is at 100km, rev is 30, at 120 rev is 40. then it begins to climb at a slower rate thereafter at higher speeds. is this normal as i thought? if not where could the problem be? THE CAR IDLES AT 10RPM

?? Once transmission is locked pretty much in a gear (you didn't state auto or standard shift) then there would be a predictable relationship of speed to engine RPMs.
Not sure what your question or problem is. If RPMs just now start climbing and speed doesn't while in same gear something is slipping,
