Quick Question About Gearbox???

Ive recently had my gearbox reconditioned on my 1.6 VW Bora due to the rivets sheering off on the driveshaft and the guy who reconditioned it told me he replaced the diff with a diff from a 1.8 gearbox. will this make my car have more top end and less acceleration? or wont i feel any difference?

Not sure of layout of this car at all but amazed "rivets" are used in a driveshaft? Not the right ones if shearing off even if they fit.
Gearbox ratios: If not identical to original your speedometer will be off and odometer either reading more or less depending on what the original was and there might be a fix for that but you'd have to ask locally,
