Problems with my 2001 sonoma Sign In

I have a 2001 GMC sonoma with a 2.2 and 150,000 miles on it I am not sure if my problem is in my transmission or diff but here is what it is doing... First we had a big snow storm with about six inches of wet slippry snow and i had to go to work in the morning so i had to work my way through some problems like i would get stuck and have to rock the truck back and forth to get out by going from forward to reverse ect. the morning after this my truck started acting up so it is probably something i broke... anyway in the morning it starts fine but when i put it in gear, either D, R, 1, 2, 3, it doesn't matter which, i have to pretty much floor it to get it to move. Once it gets going a decent speed it works fine and you can stop and start just like normal but it is just that first time in the morning. If it is in drive it shifts fine with no abnormal noise or anything it seems to help a little bit if i warm it up first but it doesn't help much also when i am driving sometimes when i accelerate my rmps will rev up and down a few times and then it will grab and go fine. the engine is fine it revs up and down like it should and i checked the fluid in my transmission the level is fine and it looks fine it doesn't smell or taste burnt and is still a nice red. after i shut it off and park it there is a weird sound coming form the Diff like air coming out of a ballon... this noise goes on for about a half hour then stops for the most part so maybe it is something back there i am not sure

Re: Problems with my 2001 sonoma Sign In

I'm not qualified (was not a specialty but a good clue) in trans alone though certified ages ago. Seems like front pump can't make the pressures needed to move the internals for selection.

Still means taking it out and if over 60-70K since last overhaul do it if you want it right and dependable,

T
